What will you learn as an All-Round aircraft assembler?

This technical MBO 3 BBL training consists of three modules in which you will learn all essential techniques for aircraft construction: Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker, Aircraft Assembly Worker and Aircraft Plastics Worker.

You start first with theory lessons on aircraft construction. The subjects you take at Da Vinci College or Alfa College are theory subjects on materials, general aircraft technology, construction theory and reading drawings. You will also take subjects such as English and communication skills.

Next, you will learn to work with different materials and fasteners. The programme focuses on learning on the job. Therefore, you will have more and more practical lessons in addition to theory.

Practice + Theory

  • 4 days a week practical lessons from our Technical Trainers in Papendrecht or Hoogeveen
  • 1 day per week of theory lessons at Da Vinci College in Dordrecht or Alfa College in Hoogeveen

Internship and practical experience

During the programme, you will follow several internships of 6 to 7 weeks each. During these internships, you will work in various departments at GKN Fokker and experience real practice. For example, you will learn that building a tail section for a Defence Chinook helicopter requires different skills than making parts for a Gulfstream aircraft – the aircraft in which, for example, Cristiano Ronaldo and Max Verstappen fly. Through these internships, you will discover where your talents are at their best!

Internship/employment contract

If you are accepted for the programme, you will not only get the opportunity to learn, but also receive an internship/employment contract and a salary. In the first year, you will receive 100% of the statutory minimum youth wage and in the second year, if you perform well, even 110% of that. You will also get extra days off that you can take in consultation. In the summer holidays, you have to take 2 to 3 weeks off, so you can relax. We also take care of your textbooks, tools and personal protective equipment. In short, we’ve got everything well organised, so that you can fully focus on your technical future!
